Description
Johannes Wilhelmus Cornelis (Jan) van der Veer (Bloemendaal 1912 – Haarlem 2001). In Amsterdam he studied at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten with, among others, Willem van den Berg, Hendrik Wolter and Johannes Jurres. With oil paint, watercolor, acrylic paint and charcoal he made portraits, still lifes, landscapes in impressionist style and later also worked abstractly. He was a member of the Society of visual artists’ Kunst zij ons doel ‘(Haarlem) of 1969-1988, the Federation of Professional Artists’ Associations (Amsterdam) of 1969-1988, the Vereeniging Sint Lucas (Amsterdam) of 1980-1988. and Art and Culture Noord-Holland from about 1997 onwards.
