Description

Barend Hendrik (Henk) Kolkmeyer (Kolkmeijer) (Amsterdam 1901 – 1988).  Painter, draftsman and teacher. Trained at the National School of Applied Arts (Amsterdam) and at the Arts de l’Institut de France (Paris). Working in Amsterdam, Paris, Leiden and Amsterdam 1946 – 1988. He painted in an abstract expressionist style. He painted still lifes and genre scenes, but also religious subjects. Henk Kolkmeyer was a member of the Amsterdam artists’ association Stuwing.
