W.J. Rozendaal (Scherpenzeel 1899 — Wassenaar 1971). Painter, graphic artist, illustrator, designer of arts and crafts (glass and ceramics). He was designer at “De Sphinx” from 1924 to 1928 and from 1928 to 1933 designer and head design at the Kristalunie Maastricht.


Kristalunie Maastricht N.V. (Maastricht 1925 – 1978). In 1925, after the merger of the Crystal and glass factory of De Sphinx and the Maastricht glass factory Stella. The new company drew different designers for the manufacture of drinks and vases, including Ed Cuypers, J. Eisenloeffel, J. de Meijer, W.J. Rozendaal, P. Zwart and Max Verboeket. The Kristalunie has been closely associated with Glasfabriek Leerdam since 1959.
