Description

Tamara Aladin ( Hamina-Finland 1932 – 2019) was a Finnish designer and glass artist known for her special objects designed for Riihimäen, graduated from the Ceramics Department of the School of Art and Design in the mid-1950s and worked for Riihimäen Lasi Oy from 1959 till 1976.

Riihimäki glass ( Finnish : Riihimäen lasi ) was a renowned glass company in Riihimäki , Finland, operating from 1910, when it was founded by Mikko Adolf Kolehmainen, until 1990. Their production ranged from simple to high-quality glass ornaments and vases, which are now sought after as collectibles, especially some of their vases. It produced everyday glassware and art glass until 1976. After that it only made glass and plastic packaging. Ahlstrom Corporation  bought the company in 1980 and closed the Riihimäki factory in 1990.
